Welcome to our FAQ page! Here, we aim to provide clear answers to common questions about your stay and experiences at Bestbrook. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our friendly team.
General FAQs
Are open campfires allowed?
Yes, unless there is a fire ban in place. Please check the SDRC Council website or www.qfes.qld.gov.au for current updates. Use the established fire pits provided at all campsites.
Are there fish in the creek?
You’re welcome to try fishing, but the creek is seasonal and shallow. Yabbies may be found during warmer months.
How many guests are allowed per site?
Each campsite allows up to 6 guests, with one sleeping setup (tent, caravan, camper, etc.) and up to 2 vehicles. Additional guests or sleeping setups require an extra site booking.
How do I make a group booking?
Please contact Reception. We can assist in booking a suitable area. You can either email a full guest list or have each family contact us individually using the group name.
Do I need a 4WD?
Most sites (90%) are accessible with 2WD. However, Peacock Crossing and Bore Flat require 4WD due to creek crossings.
Can I buy essentials on site?
Yes. Our Reception shop stocks basic items like milk, bread, ice, firewood, and some personal items.
Is gas available?
We offer 9kg Swap & Go gas. Primus bottles or refills are not available.
Is there phone and internet service?
Telstra and Optus networks are available. Free Wi-Fi is available at the main building—ask Reception for the password.
Is potable water available?
Yes. While individual sites don’t have water taps, all taps on the property provide potable water. A hose is available near the camping area entrance to fill your containers.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. Pets must be on a lead in animal areas and must not chase livestock. Pets can stay in cabins (on their own beds only). A $250 cleaning fee applies if pets are found on beds or furniture.

Are generators allowed?
Only quiet generators are permitted. Please use respectfully to avoid disturbing other guests.
Can I get a refund if I cancel/postpone my booking?

More than 28 days before arrival: 80% refund (20% admin fee)

Less than 28 days: Credit only, valid for 6 months from original booking date
Can I get a refund for early departure?

Change of mind: No refund/credit

Illness, injury, or significant weather: Refund/credit is at Management’s discretion
Do you have a camp kitchen?
Not yet, but we plan to build one in the future.
Can I book a specific site?

Powered sites: Yes

Unpowered sites: No, but you’ll be assigned an area. Sites are unmarked and first-come, first-served. Please stay at least 20m from powered sites.
What amenities are available for campers?

Access to the Village Bunkhouse bathrooms (including one accessible bathroom with step access)
Is there a dump point for chemical toilets?
Yes, two 1000-litre tanks are available at the shower and toilet blocks.

Programs and bookings are at Reception. Waivers are required. Age limits may apply.
What are your office hours?

Sunday–Thursday: 8:30am–4:00pm

Friday–Saturday: 8:00am–5:00pm
Extended hours during school holidays and long weekends. If unattended, check in the kitchen.
What are your kitchen hours?

Wednesday–Monday: 8:00am–2:00pm (Breakfast & Lunch)

Wednesday–Saturday: 5:00pm–7:00pm (Dinner – bookings essential)

Accessibility FAQs
Do you cater for people who are blind or have low vision?
Yes. While we don’t offer Braille signage, our team is happy to assist in any way needed.
Do you cater for people who are deaf or have low hearing?
Yes. While we lack specific aids like hearing loops, our staff are here to help with any support or adjustments required.
Do you cater for people with limited mobility or wheelchair users?
Yes. A ramp is available for restaurant access. The farm has gravel paths, which may be challenging. Accessible amenities are being upgraded and expected to be completed by June 2024. Most camping areas are grassed. Driving to the amenities is recommended for easier access.
Do you cater for dietary requirements or food allergies?
We offer options for:
